Hey, I'm Aaron!
I’m a self-taught artist of Scottish and Jamaican descent based in London. I create bold portraits and ink illustrations directly from my imagination. Merging classical portraiture with a spontaneous, stream-of-consciousness approach, my work explores surreal, grotesque figures and themes like technology, spirituality, and cultural identity.
I founded Play Attention—a project where humor and lighthearted creativity contrast my more serious art. With a background in storyboarding and art direction, I let intuition guide each piece, using tools like Chinese calligraphy brushes and Pentel brush pens to keep the energy alive.
My creative journey, which embraces mistakes as part of the process, has led to collaborations with brands like Revlon, Vogue, Ogilvy, Saatchi & Saatchi, Mercedes, Disney, Netflix, H&M, and Sky Arts.

The course has 25 videos for 6 hours of learning and practicing. It also includes full-length artwork tutorials! You can pause and replay the videos as much as you want. It would be best to take the course in order because it will start with the basics and progress to lessons at a more advanced level.Â

Faces
Â
We'll do some basic warm-ups and dive into topics like expression, hair, shadows, skull structure, robots and animals.
MODULEÂ 3
 Doodle headsÂ
This module guides you through the artistic process. It starts with gathering reference materials, then moves to creating thumbnails and composition to plan your artwork. You'll practice drawing techniques before completing a final project painting that brings all your skills together.
MODULE 4
Drawing from imaginationÂ
This module focuses on creative drawing and idea generation. It covers skills like sketching from life, manipulating objects, and memory training. You'll explore generating ideas, juxtaposition, and imaginative drawing theory, while using tools like writing, screenshots, and sketchbooks to enhance your artistic practice.
MODULE 5
 PerspectivesÂ
This module explores perspective techniques for creating depth, including single-point, two-point, and three-point methods. It also covers background creation and placing figures in perspective to enhance realism in your artwork. Additionally, it touches on more complex perspectives like four-point umbrella and five-point globe.

Together we will look at the materials, basic techniques, and knowledge needed to begin this journey. Approaching a new technique means first learning the fundamentals and how to use the tools at your disposal.
Practical exercises
Theory is important, but what makes you a true artist is practice... Lots of practice! You'll find lots of exercises to get you started and help you get inspired. I will show you some tricks that will make your drawings pop off the page.
